Christian Dior was born in 1905 and passed all his childhood, to Normandy, with of his parents. In 1928, he opened a picture gallery and exposed works of very large artists such as Picasso, El Salvador Dali, Jean Cocteau, etc. but alas, his parents were ruins by the stock exchange crash of 1929 and it had to close his gallery. Later, about 1935, he learned the techniques from the drawing of fashion and sold his sketches to some large dressmakers then he was mobilised in 1939.

On his return, he joined to Lucien Lelong, very famous dressmaker of this time. He drew the future collections during several seasons.In 1946, he left Lucien Lelong and founded his own couture house to the 30 Montaigne avenue in Paris. In 1947, he showed his first collection. It was a true revolution. Christian Dior have invented the style « New-look », round shoulders, fine size with loose skirt in the shape of corolla at 20 centimetres of the ground. With Christian Dior, Paris became again the city of the world or were born the most beautiful dresses.

In the United States, the dressmaker received the Oscar of the mode, but successes would not have been complete without the creation of his house of perfume and the appearance of his first fragrance called « MISS DIOR » (1947). This perfume will be marketed, at the beginning, in a Baccarat bottle in form of amphora. Later, one will find it in a bottle or will appear the hound's-tooth reason for Tweed.

DIORAMA appeared in 1949, EAU FRAICHE in 1953, DIORISSIMO in 1956 and DIORLING in 1963.
Let us note that in 1955, Christian Dior engaged as assistant Yves the St. Laurent.
In 1957; Mr Dior died of a heart attack, he was only 52 years old. His international glory will have hard only a decade but this one will have inserted him in the legend of the haute couture.

In 1966, the house Dior launched its first male fragrance, EAU SAUVAGE, created by Edmond Roudnitska (celebre « nose »). This perfume for man will become traditional. Edmond Roudnitska also composed DIORELLA in 1972. This last will say « DIORELLA later is the perfume of which I am more to trust ».

In 1988, creation of FAHRENHEIT ; in 1991, DUNE, composed by Jean-Louis Sieuzac ; in 1994, TENDRE POISON ; in 1995, DOLCE VITA, composed by Pierre Bourdon and Maurice Roger.In 1997, DUNE for Man ; in 1998, EAU DE DOLCE VITA and HYPNOTIC POISON ; in 1999, J’ADORE ; in 2000, REMEMBER ME ; in 2001, FOREVER AND EVER and in 2002, I LOVE DIOR.
