Nina RICCI

...the creation of a perfume is an act of love,
true love or imaginary love...

Marie Adélaïde Nielli (Italian) marries into Louis Ricci, moves in Monte Carlo then to Paris and becomes model maker. In 1905 the son of Nina, Robert Ricci was born. She creates her personal models and decides to open her own couture house; she will call it Nina Ricci (Nina being the nickname that one gave him when she was child) and will be directed by her son.

Robert Ricci decided to create a perfume. he asked to Germaine Storeroom (famous female "nose" of the Roure house) the design of a fragrance green and flowered which he will name COEUR JOIE. he entrusts the realization a bottle out of crystal to his friend childhood, Marc Lalique.  
In 1948, Robert Ricci Launched L’AIR DU TEMPS. Perfume which will be classified among the five better world (with SHALIMAR, CHANEL N°5, ARPEGE and JOY). One pretended it was sold each second a bottle of this perfume some share in the world. Francis Fabron (Givaudan-Roure) was the creator of this perfume. The sculptor Jean Rebull drew the first bottle. It represented an oval crystal sun with a dove carved on the stopper.

Famous "bottle with the doves" and its couple of doves fluttering above the stopper was a symbol love and of tenderness. It was created in 1951 and it knew several alternatives. Robert Ricci and Marc Lalique drew this bottle with the doves. At that time, the Lalique family manufactured bottles exclusiveness for the House Ricci because Robert was very dependent with Marc Lalique.

The next years, Ricci launched FILLE D’EVE (1952), CAPRICCI (1961), MADEMOISELLE RICCI (1967), FAROUCHE (1974), SIGNORICCI (1975) first male perfume, FLEURS DE FLEURS (1980), NINA (1987), DECI DELA (1995) and LES BELLES DE RICCI (1997), LES BELLES DE MINUIT (1998). Robert Ricci created the NINA perfume in homage to his late mother.

Robert Ricci died in 1988 and the Spanish group Puig repurchased the perfumes Nina Ricci, into 1997. Gilles Fuchs succeeded his father-in-law like Chair Company. Gilles Fuchs is the author of the colour application of the Doves of the bottle the “AIR du TEMPS” manufactured by Lalique.

To date, last female perfume created "PREMIER JOUR", last male perfume "MEMOIRE D’HOMME".
